If you expect a lot of action, you will be disappointed, KCD is more for 'slow gamers' and develops its full fascination over time. What for me as for many others were also very well received: in KCD you are not the designated hero with overwhelming abilities, but you literally have to fight your way out of the gutter and, thanks to the skill system, naturally develop your skills according to your own playing style.
